[Thursday, 25 September 2025 17:16]

The draw for the second round of the Scottish Cup will be made at the National Stadium on Sunday first the 27th September at 5pm.
Proceedings will be televised live on the Scottish Cup YouTube Channel with Falkirk midfielder Scott Arfield the man charged with selecting the numbered balls from the ‘bowl’.
Forfar Athletic along with the other nine William Hill League2 clubs enter the competition at this stage, alongside the thirty winners from the round one fixtures due to take place over the coming weekend.
The first round action actually gets underway on Friday evening with two ties scheduled, the one that catches the eye and is in fact due to be televised live on BBC Scotland the clash between two Ayrshire giants of non league football over the years near neighbours Auchinleck Talbot and Cumnock Juniors. Five Tayside clubs are in first round action on Saturday, Brechin City due to travel to meet Lochee United at Thomson Park in what looks likely to be a tasty and hard fought local derby, Ray McKinnon returning to his ‘roots’ in managerial terminology.
Elsewhere Dundee North End and Tayport both have lengthy trips ahead of them. The ‘Dokens’ current Midlands League Champions head for Grantown on Spey where they will come up against Strathspey Thistle, while the ‘Port’ head to within walking distance of the English border for a clash with East of Scotland third tier outfit Coldstream.
Perth based Jeanfield Swifts sitting pretty at present at the top of the East of Scotland Premier Division will welcome last season’s West of Scotland League Champions and current Lowland League high flyers Clydebank to the Riverside Stadium.
Looking forward to the second round ties, they are scheduled to be played over the weekend of 24th/26th October.
