Of The Loons
The ‘Loons’ will host and Aberdeen X1 on Monday night in a match to celebrate the official opening of the 3G playing surface at Station Park, the game being attended by SFL Chief Executive David Longmuir, local MSP Nigel Don, officials of Sportscotland and local councillors as well as fellow officials from the other Angus senior clubs.
The home side will be at almost full strength with options in fact limited through injury. Michael Bolochoweckyj returns after injury with Michael Dunlop also back in the fold after a short loan spell at East Stirling.
One or two of the club’s Under 19 squad may also get a run at some point during the ninety minutes.
Aberdeen will travel south with a few members of their first team squad in the pool for the game including Jamie Langfield, Chris Clark and Josh Magennis. Home fans will also be delighted to see Nicky Low and Joe Shaughnessy both of whom spent last season on loan at Station Park back ‘treading the Station Park boards.’ Nicky was of course the ‘Loons’ supporters choice as Player of the Year in May.
Monday’s game kicks-off at 7.45p.m. and admission charges are £10 for adults, £5 concessions. Forfar Athletic season tickets are valid.
