Brechin city v Forfar Athletic - Preview
[Friday, 23 November 2012 09:30]
‘Loons’ fans will make the short trip up the A90 to Glebe Park tomorrow to watch their team take on Brechin City somewhat surprisingly, considering early season form, in the role of the underdog.
City however, have been rejuvenated under the management of Ray McKinnon and are in fact unbeaten in six games under the Dundonian, including notching seven goals against Stenhousemuir and six in a cup replay at Bonnyrigg.
Forfar will be keen to put Tuesday night’s defeat to leaders Queen of the South behind them, especially with next week’s vital cup tie against Ayr United on the horizon.
Thankfully the injury crisis surrounding Dick Campbell’s squad would appear to be easing with Steven Tulloch, Chris Templeman and Danny Denholm all able to take part in a training session on Thursday evening and all will come into consideration for Glebe Park as long as no reaction is suffered. Goalkeeper Derek Soutar is still side lined however with Michael Dunlop due to serve a one match ban following his red card against the ‘Doonhamers.’
A Martyn Fotheringham first half strike secured the points for Forfar in the September joust at Station Park and of course the sides will meet again in just five weeks time at Station Park as we enter 2013.
Tomorrow’s game will be refereed by first season Grade One whistler Don Robertson who will be handling a ‘Loons’ fixture for the first time.
