LET THERE BE LIGHT !

It will have become noticeable to Station Park regulars that a number of individual floodlights, on some towers, have not been illuminated recently. This is an issue that the Board are currently actively working to improve.
The existing floodlight system has been in operation for many years during which a number of improvements were made as required. However with the installation of the 3G pitch, the use of the floodlights has dramatically increased, as was expected, placing much higher loading on the system. The increased cost of repair , maintenance and energy costs would become unsustainable should the current system not be upgraded.
A number of companies involved in the supply of modern floodlighting systems have been requested to quote, and these quotes will be discussed by the Board over the next few weeks, and meetings held with the suppliers. These systems are obviously expensive and applications will be made to grant agencies with a view to assisting with the finance required.
Upgrading to a modern floodlighting system will ensure trouble free running for many years, much reduce the running costs at Station Park, and also enhance "The Station Park Experience" which is being enjoyed by growing numbers of the Forfar and District community.
