Forfar Athletic’s Under 19 side had to settle for a share of the spoils in an entertaining ninety minutes at Station Park against Cowdenbeath on Sunday past in the SFL Youth League Cup sectional tie.
Games against Cowdenbeath have been close affairs this season with both teams recording one victory each and today's game was no different.
In a match played in bitterly cold conditions, goals from Keiller and Hay saw Forfar go 2 up before the visitors were awarded a penalty just on half time from which they scored.
The second half was a poor 45 for the young Loons, with no real chances being created. Cowdenbeath dominated and got there just reward on 85 mins when they deservedly drew level.
The Station Park youngsters do not have a scheduled fixture this coming weekend, a visit to East Fife on the cards for Sunday April 7th.
The young Loons, however, are still in a very strong position in their section having played 5 games, won 3, lost 1 and drawn 1. A couple of wins from their last three matches in the East Section, two of which are local derbies against Montrose should see the young ‘Loons’ qualify for the semi final stage of the tournament.
