Forfar Athletic’s Under 19 side boosted their chances of reaching the semi finals of the SFL’s Youth League Cup competition with a 6-0 victory over Montrose at Station Park on Sunday afternoon.
The home side, after a sticky opening spell, bombarded the visiting goal in the first period but had only a one goal advantage to show for it at the break.
However it was a different story in the second period as the home side rattled in a further five goals to cement their current top spot in the east section of the competition.
A victory for the young ‘Loons’ in their final sectional fixture, which is away to Montrose, would certainly clinch a semi final spot, but even their current points tally could be enough dependent on results elsewhere over the next seven to ten days.
