Stranraer v Forfar Athletic - Match Preview
[Friday, 26 April 2013 09:48]
Forfar Athletic make the near 200 mile journey to the south west tomorrow to tackle Stranraer knowing that in all probability only a victory will keep them in contention for the third play-off spot left available. Alloa Athletic and Brechin City have already booked their place in the end of season mini contest for a First Division berth.
The home side are also in need of points as they sit in third bottom spot in the table, three points clear of East Fife. They will also be boosted by a gutsy performance at Brechin on Tuesday past when they more than deserved the point they gained from a 2-2 draw.
All three games to date this season between the sides have been won by the team with home advantage, the ‘Loons’ triumphing 4-0 and 3-1 at Station Park while the Stair Park outfit won 3-1 on their own patch back in October.
Dick Campbell has a limited pool to choose from with apart from long term injury victims Derek Soutar and Keith Gibson, Odmar Faeroe, Stephen Tulloch and Martyn Fotheringham are also ruled out.
The match will be refereed by first season Grade One official Don Robertson who will be handling a ‘Loons’ league game for the second time this campaign.
