Fight for play-off spot goes to wire

Following Saturday’s victories for Arbroath, Stenhousemuir and the ‘Loons’ the fight for the final third play-off spot available to Second division clubs for the First Division Play-Off semi finals will go to the very last day of the season on May 4th.
The ‘Warriors’ are the surprise ‘packet’ following four straight victories which has now turned the battle into a ‘three horse race.’
The three vital fixtures on the final day are Arbroath v Alloa Athletic, Forfar Athletic v Ayr United and Stenhousemuir v Stranraer.
There are at least eight different senario’s that could unfold between 3 pm and 4.50 pm on Saturday first.
If Arbroath win they secure the fourth spot.
If Arbroath draw or lose and Forfar Athletic win, Forfar Athletic secure fourth spot.
If Arbroath draw and Forfar Athletic draw, Arbroath secure fourth spot.
If Arbroath draw and Forfar Athletic lose, Arbroath secure fourth spot.
If Arbroath lose and Forfar Athletic draw and Stenhousemuir draw or loose, Forfar Athletic secure fourth spot
If Arbroath and Forfar Athletic lose and Stenhousemuir win, Stenhousemuir secure fourth spot.
If Arbroath lose and Forfar Athletic draw and Stenhosumuir win, Stenhousemuir secure fourth spot.
If all three teams lose or draw, Arbroath secure fourth spot.
It is certainly going to be an interesting afternoon!
